Zane's diet takes a step upward...

Over the last month or so, Zane has been eating solid foods along with his formula. I decided that Zane was past pureed peas and such, so I stepped things up a bit...

Just kidding.

Full disclosure: Court had no idea I took these photos...until now. :-)

Mirror, Mirror...

As a lot of you know, I like to think of things for Zane to do or experience and then film them.

So I stuck him in front of a mirror and videoed him. Now this wasn't the first time he's encountered a mirror, but the first time he was alone and not being watched (Or at least he didn't know he was being watched).

My favorite part is at the 20-second mark or so. He seems to suddenly see someone in front of him, then notices his arm.

Made me laugh.

Here's a bio update on the little guy...

As of April 16th:

- 25.5 inches tall (75 percentile)
- 14lbs, 5ozs (30 percentile)
- Food likes: Bananas, applesauce, sweet potatoes, pears
- Food iffy: Peas
- Food dislikes: None so far

Our little guy is growing up!

Special thanks!

While I was in Boston Courtney got the flu. Nice timing, huh? She was pretty sick all day Monday. So she made a few phone calls to ask for help. The neat thing is that she only had to make two phone calls, and the answers she got weren't just "Yes" but instead were "YES! Anything I can do to help, I will!"

So a special tHGP THANKS! goes out to AmyB and Gramma Jan! They both came to Court's and Zane's aid without any hesitation.

Jan picked Zane up from daycare, and brought Court all the important stuff to combat flu: Gatorade and Sprite. This was such a great help since Court was in no condition to drive. Plus, if any of you know what daycares charge as late fees for "after hours" pick ups, you'd know how helpful this was!

Thanks, Jan!

AmyB came to our house right after work and was there immediately to take over where Jan left off.

Amy fed Z, played with him, kept him occupied until it was time for him to go to bed. Though this was a TREMENDOUS help to Court, somehow I think Amy enjoyed herself getting to play with Zane!

She brought along her dog Huey (Baby Huey!). As you can see, he's quite the cutie pie!

Thanks, AmyB!

It was very comforting to me to know we had friends like AmyB and Jan looking out for Court and Zane while I was away.

Thanks AmyB and Gramma Jan!!!

Come to think of it, it's very comforting to know we have people like AmyB, Jan & Steve, TraceyM, The North Glynn Clan, The Silvas, and AmandaK close by and in our lives.

Very comforting indeed.

Wanna see some pictures of Zane? Sure ya do...

The......slooooowest.....roll...over.... ........ever.

While I was in Boston, Courtney captured on film Zane rolling over on purpose.

This was the first time we think he did a rollover on purpose instead of the "oops, what the heck just happened...and why am I now looking in a different direction?"

Now in the past I have slowed down video for dramatic or comical effect. This time around it was all Zane in real-time. This is the slowest rollover ever.

But he did it, so we were very happy!

Speaking of consequences...

I just returned from a 4-day trip to Boston. It was great to go to a city I've never visited before, especially one so steeped in history.

But while I was touring the earliest beginnings of the good ole USA, I was missing history being made in the Glynn household. Ok, maybe not 'history' in the strictest sense, but stuff surrounding Zane that I was missing.

I was gone four days, and the following happened:

  1. Zane rolled over from his tummy to his back on purpose. None of this accidental stuff for him anymore! Court got it on video.
  2. He developed a full on giggle. It's starting to evolve into a laugh.
  3. He now has a "concerned/interested face." An expression he takes on when something interests him or intrigues him.
  4. A new level to his "talking." Now he'll just suddenly go off on these loud 5 minute babble streaks.
AND I WAS ONLY GONE FOUR DAYS!!!

Stupid dumb consequences.

Plenty of video, pictures and postings coming in the near future now that I am back....I promise.

Consequences.

Consequences.

The Glynn Family learned about consequences over the weekend.

Mom & Dad learned about making sure those razor blades Zane calls fingernails are completely shaved down. The consequence? A guilty feeling.

Zane learned what happens when you can't yet completely control your limbs, hands, and fingers. The consequence...

A nice little cut right on his nose. This isn't the first nor will it be the last...it just happens to be the first I've taken a photo of. Truth be told, we didn't know when he did it on Sunday, so it must not have bothered him too much...or at least that's what I'm telling myself!

On another note, this is one of my favorite pictures. I like the twinkle in each eye, and the cute semi-smile he is sporting.

Here's a picture of Zane in his swing. One minute he was playing with the toys on the swing, and the next he was asleep...with his hands still on the toys...

I think Duckie and Zane are becoming great friends...

Good morning, Zane!

Vote for Zane!

Most of the time Zane wakes up on his own. A lot of the time we don't even know he is awake. He'll just lay in his cradle happily looking around, playing with his hands, and generally just enjoying the look and feel of his room.

But a couple of times a week he sleeps long enough that we have to wake him. So we sneak into his room and have developed a routine:
  1. Turn off the humidifier
  2. Turn off the white noise machine
  3. Open the cradle swing's tray
  4. Unbuckle him
  5. Sit back and watch as he wakes
Now as you may have gathered from reading this blog, we have a little guy who has a pretty happy disposition. And the morning time is no different.

Check out this long video (You've been warned...2:20 minutes) of him waking up. It's great to see him wake up, look around, and start smiling as soon as he sees us.

It's a great way to start your morning!

This particular video was taken over Easter weekend when Ooma was visiting.

What you just saw on the video is how he wakes up every single morning...happy. We're blessed and we know it!

But all isn't so rosy in the morning.

Remind me sometime to tell you about what happens 30 minutes after he wakes....it relates 100% to the solid food he ate the night before.

...and Tigger, too!

Uncle Jimmy gave Zane a really cute Tigger bathrobe, complete with some awesome footie slippers! And as always, I took about 20 pictures. And as is par for the course, only about half turned out good. But here are the best of the bunch.

If you know the song, sing along!

The Tigger Song

The most wonderful thing about Tiggers,
...is Tiggers are wonderful things.

Their tops are made out of rubber,
...their bottoms are made out of springs.

They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy,
...Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!

But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers is,
...I'm the only one.

Oh, III'm the only one!
